Lock actuals

In short. On Weltee Startup, Actuals: Lock this month or Lock. Today: Lock period. Statuses: Closed, Open, Reviewed, Restated, Locked. If books change, Record restatement. Export locked books. Reports will not draft a pack from an open month. Weltee does not silently rewrite a published pack.

Actuals are the books the company will stand behind. A pack reads the lock.

Lock the month

  1. Import a file, or let a connection pull.
  2. Open Actuals. Review the period.
  3. Lock this month, or Lock on the row. From Today: Lock period.
  4. Status: Closed / Locked. Also used: Open, Reviewed, Restated.

Export locked books when you want the file.

If the books change

Record restatement. The as-of date travels with the figure. The prior locked row stays in the archive. Weltee does not quietly rewrite a number an investor already opened.

Why lock first

Reports drafts from locked actuals. An open month cannot be the pack. Friday's pack starts after the lock.
